16 years ago, At the United Nations Conference on Environment and Development – referred to as the Rio Summit, Earth Summit in 1992 in Rio De Janeiro, Severn Cullis-Suzuki – daughter of renowned Canadian environmentalist David Suzuki – delivered this speech when she was just 12 years old.  It is chilling that her message calls for action against the same issues that we are confronted with today, which means that her plea was not taken seriously enough in 1992.  Will they listen now?
