Global Climate March – Peterborough

November 29, 2015 @ 2:00 pm - 3:00 pm

Something magical is happening for the planet! Across the world we’re coming together on November 29th only hours before the most important climate summit this decade in Paris!  If hundreds of thousands of us join events in cities & towns everywhere, we’ll show our leaders that climate change cannot be ignored – that 100% clean energy is essential.

Concerned Peterborough citizens are invited to participate in two separate but related events organized jointly by many  local environmental groups.

There will be a bus from Peterborough to a big national march in Ottawa. To find out more, visit this web site or email Calvin Duschene, Roy Brady, or Rob Steinman for details.

Those who prefer to gather in Peterborough will meet on Sunday, Nov. 29th at Trinity United Church at 2 p.m. Speakers will discuss the significance of the Paris conference, with follow-up actions in the form of postcard/letter writing to encourage our politicians to act now. This will be a family-friendly event. Children welcome to help write and decorate letters. Peterborough has always been aware and involved. Now is the time to show how much we care for the planet! Remember, there is No Planet B.

Please join up on the web page or the Facebook Event and spread the invitation to your friends.

Organizing groups include: For Our Grandchildren, Kawartha World Issues Centre, Sustainable Trent, the Council of Canadians and other partners joining together to coordinate two community responses.
