4RG at Lakefield Jazz Festival

By Guy Hanchet

Thank you to the team of 4RG members who spent time spreading the word about the costs and health impacts of climate change yesterday at the Lakefield Jazz Festival. We all enjoyed the opportunity to engage with people who were somewhat interested and also to listen to some fun music and lounge around with neighbours in a relaxed atmosphere.

The donations jar had $77 in it at the end of the day and we were down a few bumper stickers and buttons. We signed up 6 people to the newsletter. The new flyer and matching posters provided a good starting point for conversation.

Here’s a photo of the 11:00 shift – Mary Ferguson-Pare, Gilly Trowbridge, and Mark Bullock. I forgot to take pictures later in the day when Geoff Daw, Alan and Linda Slavin, and Don Coppin joined in.

We also plan to have a booth at the Peterborough Folk Festival on August 17th and 18th. For a fun afternoon why not come out to the FREE festival and spend an hour or more at our booth. Fill out this form with your preferred times if you can make it on either day.
