Climate change hurts your wallet — and your health

Drew Monkman’s article in the Peterborough Examiner highlights the extent to which the impacts of climate change are already costing us a lot of money and hurting local public health. He reminds us that Peterborough’s proposed Climate Action Plan will save residents nearly a billion dollars over the next 25 years and will also improve local environmental health outcomes while also reducing our greenhouse gas emissions.

4RG Support for Climate Change Action Plan 2.0

One of 4RG’s most important initiatives for 2025 is to support the Climate Change Action Plan. This plan will benefit residents with net savings of $900 million through 2050. It will be good for the local economy by fostering local jobs, and it will improve local public health. All these benefits while also reducing our contribution to greenhouse gas emissions by well over 50%.
