4RG Peterborough recently sent an on-line questionnaire to all of the Peterborough City Council candidates. People’s Climate March

People everywhere!

People on Central Park Avenue, a broad street on the West Side of New York’s Central Park. People of all ages: 9 months to 90 years, happy to be participating!  Happy to be showing where they stood for the benefit of country leaders gathering at the UN Climate Change Summit the following Tuesday.

Dr. Sekagya Yahaya, a traditional healer from Uganda, then pointed out how limited resources are in much of the world, and noted that climate change will make life even more difficult in Uganda. He ended by urging us all to value all of nature, not just humans.

Everywhere I went people were complaining about the winter and asking what happened to Global Warming. The weather reports were all talking about the Polar Vortex. What the heck is a Polar Vortex anyway?

Can we reconcile the apparent discrepancy between the coldest January in decades and global warming? I think so, and there is even pretty good evidence that the cold snap was caused by global warming.
