Climate Aligned Finance – by Julie Segal and Alex Walker

We are very pleased to welcome Julie Segal, Senior Manager, Climate Finance at Environmental Defence Canada, and Alex Walker, Program Manager, Climate Finance at Environmental Defence Canada as they help us to understand and support financial regulation as a vital climate solution.

Among other things, Julie and Alex will touch on Bill S-243 – the Climate-Aligned Finance Act, which was introduced by Senator Rosa Galvez.  The goal of the bill is to bring Canada’s financial sector in line with climate science, mitigate growing risks to our financial system,  start pushing for an orderly transition to a low-carbon economy, and legislate respect for Indigenous rights.
