4RG Monthly Meets – Forest Therapy with Sophie Monkman

September 13 @ 7:00 pm - 8:00 pm EDT

Forest Therapy is one of innumerable ways to experience and connect with the more-than-human world. It is founded on the Japanese practice of Shinrin-Yoku – which translates directly as “forest bathing” – and is a slow, sensory-based immersion in nature.

In this presentation, Sophie will share about the wide range of benefits of a Forest Therapy practice (physical, mental, emotional, environmental, societal, etc…) as well as how she sees it as being an integral form of activism and engagement in the climate crisis.

4RG will host informal monthly meetings for people who are interested in understanding how we can effectively respond to the climate crisis. Each meeting will include a short 15 – 25 minutes presentation followed by time to discuss and share ideas. Meetings will usually occur on the second Monday of the month with exceptions to accommodate holidays.
