You may qualify for a free heat pump – that can cut your heating costs in half – from Ontario’s Save on Energy program. Households with moderate or low incomes can get a free heat pump, including full installation and a 10-year warranty, if they currently use electricity to heat their home.

A two-person household with a combined income of $64,095 or less, or a three person household with a combined income of $78,499 or less, (click here for all the income qualification thresholds for different household sizes) can apply to receive a zero cost heat pump that can cut heating costs by 50% compared to conventional electric baseboards or electric furnaces.
